Launching brand new eKYC on Nami Exchange

Dear Nami Community,

In order to increase the convenience of users in verifying accounts, from 2023-06-22 03:00 (UTC), Nami Exchange has updated the eKYC mechanism with many upgrades such as:

  • Support a variety of KYC documents, including Citizenship ID, Identity Card, Passport, Driving License... with more than 11,000 types of documents from more than 230 countries and territories
  • Simplify KYC operations and reduce review time to less than 5 minutes

Notice:

  • User need to update the Nami Exchange application on application store from version 2.1.2 or above to use this feature
  • From 2024-01-28 17:00 (UTC), the eKYC feature is temporarily unavailable, new users can KYC using the traditional method according to the instructions here.

1.Access the eKYC interface and enter basic info

You can start the KYC process by clicking "KYC Now" in the Account section


After that you will need to enter the following information:

  • Nationality
  • Type of document and Number of documents to be used for KYC
  • Date of birth

2.Authentication of documents and identity

  • User need to allow Nami Exchange app permission to access camera
  • Take a photo of the front and back (if required) of the document
  • Verify identity through facial images automatically recorded in the camera

After completing the above steps, the results will be notified via email and application notification in about 5 minutes.


3.Verify payment method (optional)

To be able to use the Buy & Sell via Partner feature, users will need to verify the payment method through the bank account and the phone number binding with the account.

Steps to verify payment method:

  • Go to Payment Methods, under Accounts

  • Select a bank and enter the account number

  • Verify phone number

Important Notices:

  • Payment method verification only required for Vietnamese users
  • User needs to complete KYC to verify payment method
  • The account holder name must match the username in the KYC document
  • Bank account number, phone number must not been recorded in any other accounts

4.Reject KYC

Based on AML-CFT compliance assessments, as well as existing data of eKYC service provider, Nami may refuse to KYC the account and suspend some services with the user's account.

After 2 consecutive rejections, the system will have a window notifying the reason for the rejection and user account will be temporarily locked, users can contact support to find out more details about the reason for the rejection of KYC.
