Activate and use Smart OTP on Nami Exchange

Dear Nami Community,

In order to increase the convenience of users in confirming withdrawal transactions, from 2023-05-24 09:00 (UTC), Nami Exchange officially applies Smart OTP (Smart one-time password) for transactions of withdrawing digital assets from Nami.

The following article will detail how to install and use Smart OTP on Nami Exchange.


1.Access Smart OTP function

Users can access Smart OTP feature at Security section, Account section


2.Install Smart OTP with PIN code

  • Access Smart OTP, click Activate Smart OTP
  • Enter the verification code sent to your email to set up Smart OTP
  • Set up and confirm a 6-digit PIN code

3.Use Smart OTP when creating digital asset withdrawal orders

When executing a digital asset withdrawal order, the system will ask to enter a PIN code to authenticate via Smart OTP then automatically confirm withdrawal order on Nami Exchange application.

Users can also use this Smart OTP code for digital asset withdrawal on Nami Exchange website.


4.Reactivate Smart OTP

In case you forget your PIN and need to reset Smart OTP, users can click "Forgot PIN" to proceed with the reset.


Important Notices:

  • Users need to update to the latest version of Nami Exchange app to use this feature
  • Smart OTP can only be installed on a single device, after installing Smart OTP, users will need to enter Smart OTP from the installed device to use it for Withdraw transactions from other platforms (such as Nami Exchange websites or Nami Exchange app on the second device)
  • For on-chain crypto Withdrawal orders with asset value greater than 50,000,000 VNDC (equivalent to approximately 2,500 USDT), users need to enter traditional OTP codes from email or 2FA (if installed)
  • After entering the wrong PIN code 5 times, the Smart OTP feature will be automatically disable, users can use other forms of OTP via email or 2FA (if installed) to continue confirming the Withdrawal transaction or reactivate Smart OTP to continue using this function.
